Dallas is a city in the U.S. state of Texas. It is the most populous city in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, which is the fourth most populous metropolitan area in the United States. It has many amenities that make it a desirable place for older adults to live:

  1. Healthcare Facilities: Dallas is home to numerous healthcare facilities, including hospitals, medical centers, and specialized clinics. The city has a robust healthcare system that can cater to the healthcare needs of older adults.

  2. The Dallas Area Agency on Aging (DAAA) is the department under the umbrella of the Community Council of Greater Dallas responsible for planning, advocating, coordinating resources, and providing services for seniors (persons 60+) and their caregivers in the Dallas County area.

  3. Affordable Cost of Living: Dallas generally has a lower cost of living compared to many other major cities in the United States. This can make it more affordable for older adults, especially those on fixed incomes, to find housing and access necessary services.

  4. Transportation: Dallas has a comprehensive transportation system that includes public transportation options such as buses and light rail. This can make it easier for older adults to navigate the city and access different areas without relying solely on private vehicles.

  5. Diverse Community: Dallas is a diverse and multicultural city with a welcoming community. The city offers opportunities for older adults to engage with people from different backgrounds, participate in cultural events, and enjoy a sense of community.

I can't really give my opinion on this issue because I haven't seen too many friendly people around.

I have not lived in texas for long but the little time I have been here, I have noticed how helpful people can be. Holding the door, asking if one needs help and the general thank you when one offers help.
