To me there is a huge gap between the interests of the Millennials, Startup culture etc and little respect for the wisdom keepers and expertise. I believe there is room for everyone to contribute but that is not encouraged here. so, though a beautiful environment--mountains, weather etc. one is made to feel old and not a contributor. When I am in NYC, my other home--I never feel this way.
Mostly transportation options. There are also quite a few retirement housing facilities, but not enough that are subsidized. Pavement is often uneven, which is a walking hazard for many people. The city cannot keep-up with the need for pavement repairs. The need is higher than in many cities, because of the climate.
I believe the cost of living in Denver has skyrocketed, making it unaffordable for those living on fixed incomes.
I live in a neighboirhood where everyone says Hi to you. Neighbors are willing to help each other. We were moving furniture down a flight of stairs, the neighbor ran over and said let me help. Next door neighbor's home was flooded, I went over there and started mopping.
There are a lot of Assistant Living place for the age friendly and lots of programs for them as well.
