Many retirees retire part-time or full time to all parts of Florida. My husband and I are both 67. We love the friendliness of the people. It is easy to meet people as most folks are from someplace else. their"October, we get much more traffic and in January, watch out. However, they treat senior visitors and residents well as we are "their bread and butte." We did find part-time jobs, but not in our fields. Lie any place, you have to look for the jobs and adapt to "lower than your skill" level. We like it here.
