Temple has developed as a small city with a number of arts and retail amenities not typically associated with a smaller community. Employers are not willing to hire older displaced works. Baby boomers continue being released from their jobs and cannot find replacement living wage jobs. Poor transportation options unless medically disabled. No sidewalks for much of the town.
