West Jordan is an age friendly area for people of all ages. It's a good community for older ones, for teenagers, for children, and overall for families. The West Jordan area is about 10 miles from the nearest major city, Salt Lake. With it being a little bit of a distance from the nearest city it offers a lot of benefits. For one if is a lot safer to raise a family. With it being a smaller city traffic is less intense and the community is more tight knit; so you know people are watching out for you and your loved ones. The city is overall less compact so their is more space for everyone and the air quality is a bit better and open. Their is also tons of jobs and opportunities to grow in this area not only career wise but as a community. West Jordan is a welcoming environment for all.

I believe my community in West Jordan is age friendly. It is a little bit of a distance from the nearest major city so in a way it is more rural and less compacted which has its pros and cons. For pros, for the elderly and children specifically, it is significantly safer. They are not confined to small spaces or the city is jam packed with people so the chances of an accident in traffic are slimmer, and the community due to lesser volume of people is more safe. The smaller a community is the more close knit the members are which promote a sense of belonging and safety not only in the school systems but in the overall community. Jobs are plentiful and there are many ways to help out in the community. Some cons can be it is a little isolated from surrounded cities so with that comes people needing their own source of transportation and most of everything is out of walking distance. Overall the general livability of the area is great and friendly for people of all ages.
