In general I find Raleigh to be age friendly though I hadn't thought about it until the last few years in regards to the job application process, when I discovered fewer work opportunities available to me. I don't know why but have been told it relates to employer health/medical benefits.

I moved here in Dec. 2016 and I have found that the area of Raleigh I moved to is mostly people in their 20-30's as I am near NC State University. I have found people in their 50's living in Raleigh, however there are far fewer people in their 60's here. My opinion is that Raleigh is a place for students and young professionals mostly, and It has been lonely here for me as an older person. People here are family oriented and have the same friends for years. They don't make new friends to socialize with in my age group. People become friends with others only of the same age group.
