Making DC Age Friendly: Age-Friendly DC is a coordinated, comprehensive, and collective-action effort whose goal is to ensure that all DC residents are active, connected, healthy, engaged and happy in their environment. The District’s Age-Friendly effort is starting with a focus on adults age 50 and older.



  • In 2018 Mayor Muriel Bowser signed the Age-Friendly DC 2018-2023 Establishment Order setting in motion the second five-year journey.

  • Mayor Bowser appointed a new Age Friendly Task Force.

To me the respect and Courtesy that's presented determines the level of friendliness.. in the community more handicap parking spaces more. Ramps instead of steps. And even seats at bus stops makes The environment more age friendly.

Age friendly because it is the city. Just with saying that it makes it better because it's diverse everything is walking distance or you have a bus stop or metro not to far from your house.

It is very age friendly because it is a social environment at any time in any kind of assistance being needed, wether is through the law inforcement or regular individuals your sure to feel safe within any neighborhood.
