Fort Worth is the 16th-largest city in the United States and the fifth-largest city in the state of Texas. The city is located in North Central Texas.

The Tarrant County Area Agency on Aging has 4 primary ways it interacts with the public and maintains age-friendliness with its residents

  1. Benefits Counciling: Get free one-on-one advice about Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs, QMB/SLMB, disputes over hospital bills, Food Stamps and more by calling a state-certified benefits counselor

  2. Long Term care Ombudsman: If you have a problem with a long-term care facility, assisted living facilities or other types of residential facility that you can’t resolve yourself, you can call a local ombudsman – a specially-trained advocate who can explain rights, resources and procedures and help identify, investigate and resolve complaints of long-term care facility residents.

  3. Home Delivered Meals: Meals On Wheels Inc. of Tarrant County prepares and delivers thousands of well-balanced meals to homebound disabled and elderly people every day.

  4. Congregate Meals at Senior Centers: Sixty and Better serves hot meals to people age 60 and older five days a week at 28 senior centers. These centers also offer free health assessments, nutrition education, physical fitness, legal clinics and more.

This is an old, stable city. Although located near Dallas, Fort Worth has retained it's old time charm and peace. There are certainly things available for the younger crowd, but I do enjoy living here.

Fort Worth is a friendly and diverse city. It is a multicultural city with a large Hispanic community since it is in Texas. Fort Worth offers many types of entertainment such as The Fort Worth Zoo which is considered one if the finest zoo's in the nation, The historic Fort Worth stockyards which offers a look at the cattle ranching and herding business looked like in the old west and Billy Bob's Texas if you are in the mood for a little Texas swing. It is the home of the TCU horn frogs, Texas Wesleyan University, The University of North Texas Health Science Center, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and The Texas A&M University School of Law. There is public bus transportation as well as The Trinity Railway Express which is a commuter rail service that services downtown Fort Worth and downtown Dallas. The Will Roger's Auditorium and Coliseum Sports and Livestock Exhibition is one of the events which draws fans from all over the USA. Overall, Fort Worth is a great north Texas city which feels like a small town but offers many employment opportunities and industry. It's a great place to call home.
